About Us

Learning  Participating Educating Challenging

Here at Laverstoke Park Education Centre we are committed to teaching all generations the importance of natural farming in today's world.  We offer educational insights for all ages covering every aspect of bio-diverse farming both here, through the web site, and through visits to the Education Centre.

Over 6,000 school and college students have visited our farm since 2002.  We are delighted to offer our farm as a resource for learning outside the classroom encorporating all aspects of the national curriculum.  We have never charged for a school visit and never wish to, since we want it to be as accessible to all children as possible.

In 2007 we were recognised as part of the Enterprise Education body for supporting Education within a farm.  Our work organising a Mathematics Challenge with Test Valley School and their feeder primaries was such a success we have continued holding this as an annual challenge for our local schools.

In 2008 we were proud to announce that we had become one of the few farms to be independently inspected  by the Countryside Educational Visits Accreditation Scheme  (CEVAS).   This accolade endorses the in-farm teaching and approves the farm for school visits.

We offered the NVQ Land Based Management Course to 16-19 year olds in 2006.  These students work on our farm one day a week and learn all aspects of farming as part of their programme.  This was so successful we have continued to offer this each year to our local secondary school students.

In 2009 we started the GreenFingered Entrepreneurs.  A week by week programme for schools to grow there own produce with tips for success and an area outlining the cross-curriculum attainments and Budding Entrepreneurs.  For further details please use this link.

Our long awaited classrooms arrived.  This has made a huge difference, allowing the students to work in an appropriate area encompassing the natural surroundings of the site.

Laverstoke Park Farm practises all of the vital lessons that the Education Centre wishes to teach and because of that, we are able to demonstrate not just the theory of bio-diversity and healthy sustainable nutrition but also the practical day to day working of a real life farm.

The farm philosophy of healthy soil being to essential first step in the chain that leads to healthy sustainable nutrition is one we seek to demonstrate in the most practical way.

We have designed our website with three different age group areas.  Visit the Learning Zone area for our resources.
